Bobby Robson RIP

Today is a sad day for football.

Bobby Robson, the former Ipswich, Barcelona, Newcastle, and perhaps more famously, England Manager, has died aged 76 years old, following his long battle with Cancer.

Robson will forever be remembered for England's 1990 World Cup campaign in Italy, where in his final stint as Manager guided the Three Lions to the Semi Finals of the World Cup, where they lost to Germany on penalties, in the famous match that saw Paul Gascoigne reduced to tears.

There will be plenty of tears shed for the best England manager in the last 42 years, and I'm sure the fans of Newcastle will decorate St James' Park black and white in his honour, despite the current issues for the Geordies.

Bobby Robson was also a true gent, and the news will no doubt sadden the rest of the footballing world, including in particular fans of Barcelona, PSV Eindhoven, Sporting Lisbon, and Porto where he managed during his career.

Ipswich Town was where he really made his name, challenging the likes of Liverpool & Manchester United for honours, and resulted in European success in the UEFA Cup.

Robson was a legend, of that there is no doubt, football has lost one of it's top men today, and will be sadly missed.

Rest in Peace Bobby Robson.
